Wealden Heroes Awarded

Waldron Heroes are awarded for their help to the vulnerable in lockdown

Waldron residents, Sean Dexter, Mobbs Pitcher Charlotte Waggott and Sally Wellings  were given an award by Wealden MP Nus Ghani this week (2 October) for their work for the vulnerable at the beginning of the pandemic. They identified those at risk and mobilized a group of volunteers who were available for picking up prescriptions, providing a shopping service using local traders and undertaking small errands.

The heroes were assisted by Ian Dixon, Ella and Sue Hinton, Karin and Imogen Taylor, Catharine Long, Emilia Dexter and Min Peterken.

Wealden MP Nus Ghani said 'Volunteers are at the heart of our community-led support. We are so lucky to have so many extraordinary individuals who have selflessly dedicated their time to supporting the community by organising a network to help our elderly and vulnerable.

All our church friends wish our heroes well!
