St Bartholomew’s Project
Our long held aspiration to have some modern facilities at St. Bart’s is now becoming a reality thanks to the generous support of some individuals as well as a major contribution from Friends of Waldron Churches.
The project commenced on Monday 16th November and progress has been quite steady although the combined effects of the Covid situation and a spell of bad weather has affected the schedule somewhat.
The steel frame has arrived and we now start to see something of how the finished building will look. We shall have toilets, kitchen and a meeting room etc enabling us to serve the congregation better and to reach out to the local community and our school.
Financing the project remains a challenge as the Covid 19 situation has meant that we have not been able to organise our usual fund raising activities during 2020 and this will remain difficult in 2021.
Having said that, we have just launched a “Buy a Brick” campaign so that anyone can make a contribution, large or small and feel part of the project. Please see below for details of how you can be involved as we seek to achieve our target of £5,000 from this source; at £5 per brick it’s only 1000 bricks!
